In response to significant local and regional demand for employment space for small and medium-sized businesses, Glenbrook identified and secured 40 acres of land for development on what is one of the last allocated employment sites in Wigan, part of Greater Manchester.
The site is allocated for employment use in Wigan Council’s Unitary Development Plan and forms part of the South Lancashire Industrial Estate (SLIE) Primary Employment Area.
A planning pre-app has been undertaken and development of the site for employment use is supported by the Council.
The outline planning application is likely to be for an area of circa. 625,000 sq ft, providing flexibility and opportunity to review unit sizes should occupier demand require this.
The location benefits from favourable market demographics supporting the proposal as a key industrial hub. Given its strategic position on the national motorway network, together with low cost of labour and manufacturing/logistics focused workforce, the site appeals to occupiers looking for a foot-hold in the North West.
Glenbrook will manage the development process from inception to completion.
