A 40 acre employment park adjacent to the M6 Motorway.
In response to significant local and regional demand for manufacturing and logistics space from small and medium-sized businesses, Glenbrook identified and secured 40 acres of land for development on what is one of the last allocated employment sites in Wigan, part of Greater Manchester.
The site is allocated for employment use in Wigan Council's Unitary Development Plan and forms part of the South Lancashire Industrial Estate (SLIE) Primary Employment Area.
The location benefits from favourable market demographics supporting the proposal as a key industrial hub. Given its strategic position on the national motorway network, together with low cost of labour and manufacturing/logistics focused workforce, the site appeals to occupiers looking for a foot-hold in the North West.
An outline planning application, supported by Wigan Council, for 625,000 sqft was refused at planning committee in April 2022.
Glenbrook appealed the decision by way of a public enquiry which was heard in January 2023. The appeal was successful and planning consent was granted in May 2023.
Glenbrook will manage the development process from inception to completion.
